    Charlie Palmieri
    El Gigante Del Teclado
    CD (Fania / Emusica - Remastered Edition 130 005), Released 1972; Re-Issued 2006
    Editor's Pick:

Tico Records producer Joe Cain persuaded Morris Levy, whose Roulette Records owned the Tico and Alegre imprints, to reactivate the dormant Alegre label. Joe invited Charlie Palmieri, who had just been doing small club dates, back into the new fold to make a fine trio of albums between 1972 and 1975 with Vitín Avilés on lead vocals, the first of which was El Gigante Del Teclado. Reflecting his jazz and descarga proclivities, Charlie's arrangements of the seven tracks built-in oodles of space for solos, especially from himself on piano and organ and trumpeter Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros.
Very highly recommended. (John Child, 2006-03-27)

    Description:
We are happy to offer the new digitally remastered reissues from the classic salsa label, Fania. Brought to you by Emusica, which, over time, will be reissuing the entire catalog with improved sound and superb liner notes too - some of which are written hich are written by Descarga.com's own virtually resident scholar, John Child.
Many of these new reissues have been remastered by Bob Katz of Digital Domain, so even if you already own the older CD version you might want to consider upgrading to the new improved edition. They're even less expensive than the originals were! Good news all around.
    Highly Recommended.
